Former CBC Vancouver television Sports Director Ron Harrison passed away
October 14 in Newmarket ON at age 82. He joined CBC in the early 60s,
later moving to CBC Sports, where he worked for CBC Vancouver as a
producer and director of network sports for the west. His work was
recognized with two Emmy Awards, two Geminis and a Sports Media Canada
Achievement Award. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal
Canadian Legion Branch #426, 707 Srigley Street, Newmarket on Sunday,

Long-time Vancouver radio and TV broadcaster Doriana Temolo died this
morning of breast cancer at age 64. Early in her career she had worked
at CKNW radio and CKVU-TV before joining BCTV as a reporter, news anchor
and producer in 1987. She went on to produce Global National from
2001-11 and was News Director from 2011-16.
